During the desk research phase of this project, I had began a “Process Map”. This explored how routes were set up, managed, and promoted by networks. It was doing this that had led me to split the project up into two sprints, as this part was getting in the way of the end-user focussed sprint.

I had kept this in mind though, and revisited it for this sprint to develop further.

After spending some time with it, I had identified differences in the process between different types of public transport, as well as 3 distinct sections that divided the process. The first focussed on the details of the route and preparing the information for the backend. The second on the design and promotion of the route. And the third on improving the route through data analysis.

I thought these would be a good basis to base personas off as they offered distinct user groups and needs.

This step of the process was really useful and I’m glad I revisited it. I am pleased that I was able to identify that this step was useful but just not at the original time I tried it, and I was able to use it more appropriately now.

The next step was develop user personas.
