After my SWOT analysis, I had picked 3 ideas to take forward. Now, I wanted to flesh these ideas out, considering the issue, problem statements, potential users, and solutions. Although preliminary at this stage, I think it is good to consider these as far as possible to ensure they could be viable projects and have enough substance.

[This idea came from the Zeitgeist project; I asked my other group members and they were all fine with me using it as a potential project]
Asylum seekers are being housed in hotels due to claims taking months to years to process. Until their claim is processed, they are unable to work or earn in the UK. This is alienating local tax payers who rightly or wrongly feel there could be a better allocation of taxes than funding these hotels. Additionally, many of them have qualifications in in demand sectors, putting them at a disadvantage for getting work.
I am an asylum seeker in a hotel and I’m trying to start my new life but I am can’t at the moment because my asylum claim is taking months to process which makes me feel bored and unwelcome.
I am a recently processed asylum seeker and I’m trying to get work but I have no proof of my qualifications because I have lost them or they are not valid in the UK which makes me feel frustrated and undervalued.
I am a local taxpayer and I’m trying to understand the point of housing asylum seekers in hotel but I can’t agree with it because they are staying in the hotel for months at the expense of taxpayers which makes me feel angry and worried for my community.
A system for asylum seekers to verify qualifications they already have and seek work experience before their claim is processed. In turn, allowing them to earn money prior to their claim being processed, as well as providing a boost to the UK economy and workforce by utilising the claim processing time to find where they would be most useful.
Outcomes could include a website prototype of a digital platform where users can begin qualification verification, track their claim, and seek work experience, and/or a service blueprint covering how the service would work from the arrival of asylum seeker to their claim being completed.
Asylum seeker with existing work experience or qualifications with or without documentation.
Local members of the community with concerns over asylum seekers.
Local business owners who could provide apprenticeships/work experience.
Policy makers who are involved in immigration.

Rush hour traffic congestion is major contributor to carbon emissions as well as being a nuisance to everyone. What if we all staggered the time we went to/left work to alleviate traffic. Could certain industries or areas agree to stagger their work start times in 10 minute intervals between 0830-0930 to maintain traffic flow and lower emissions. This could be gamified for the user, while also being a B-Corp-esque accreditation for participating companies.
I am person who drives to work and I’m trying to get there as fast as possible but the roads are congested because they were not built for this capacity which makes me feel frustrated and tired.
I am person who has no option but to drive to work and I’m often stuck in traffic but is causing more emissions because of stop start driving which makes me concerned for the planet and environment.
I am an employer and I’m trying to reduce our companies emissions but I know a lot of my employees drive to work because they have no other option which makes me feel frustrated and embarrassed.
A programme/scheme that companies can sign up to stagger their work start and end times. A system would calculate what time suit each company/industry. Employers would recieve an accreditation to show their participation in reducing emmsions. Employees would have a gamified experience to encourage alignment with the times, as well providing optimal routes to work to reduce emissions.
Outcomes could include a mobile app for employees to track their time alignment and receive traffic updates etc, and a website platform for employers to manage their involvement with the scheme.
Climate conscious companies and employers located in high traffic cities and towns.
Employees who drive to work regularly.

There is an incredible difference in the quality of digital services between different public transport networks. Great systems are expensive which is ok for massive cities, but smaller cities don’t have the budget for it. Could we create an all in one, best practice solution for cities that could grab off the shelf, rebrand, and deploy as their digital service for public transport.
I am person who uses public transport and I’m trying to use the networks digital service to plan and pay for my journey but it is a poor experience compared to other cities because my city isn’t big enough to afford a good system which makes me feel frustrated.
I am an executive at a public transport network and I’m trying to decide how we improve our digital services but I have a limited budget because of economic restrictions which makes me feel restricted and frustrated.
An off-the-shelf all-in-one solution for cities to brand and deploy for their public transport digital services. Services could include mapping, timetabling, and ticketing etc from a single platform. It would use best practice techniques from other transport networks and scale appropriately to city size.
Outcomes could include a back end management tool for networks to create and manage digital services through. Additional outcomes could include the public presenting view of the platform, but I think the priority is on the CMS-esque platform for networks.
Small to medium sizes transport networks.
People who regularly use public transport.
Network staff responsible for management and mobility.
