The first step in creating my CV was writing the content for it. I used CV360 to make sure my CV is up to standard, and aimed to get a 100% score.
For the first draft of my CV, my main issue was the word count. I was around 300 words over the recommended count so I needed to cut this down a lot. I also had a good few spelling and grammar errors, but this was much easier to correct.

My second draft was within the word count, however still had some issues around spelling and grammar. I was also finding at this point that CV360 was flagging some things that shouldn’t be flagged such as links not being there when they were, and academic dates being missing when they were there.

After dismissing any false errors from CV 360, I had achieved 100%. I was really pleased with this and gave me a lot of confidence in my CV. I found CV360 a really useful tool as I felt it made the writing part of the CV much faster due to how quickly it would identify and help me correct errors.

Profile
I am a dedicated, committed, and hardworking young man who is always looking for new and challenging opportunities. I am someone who enjoys helping and pleasing other people, which is something I found through my years of working in hospitality and volunteering at Storehouse Foodbank. I think this is the reason I am so passionate about Interaction Design, as I believe design should be used to help people.

Work Experience
Design Intern, Big Motive, July and August 2023
During the Summer of 2023, I spent 8 weeks as a Design Intern at Big Motive. During my time here, I worked on many projects, the highlights of which were:
Adidas – I was a part of this project initially during the research phase and continued to work on it through to the Design phase. During the research phase, I assisted in usability testing interviews and helped to adapt what was learnt from the interviews into a presentation. During the Design phase, I assisted in iterating on the previous user flows and making improvements based on the learnings from the interviews. I was also tasked with building a system map for the new user flows and keeping the map up to date.
Bioliberty – The digital product we were working on for this project required a user dashboard and an exercise visualisation flow. I was initially brought onto the project to assist with implementing changes based on usability testing, however; I was also able to suggest and implement some of my own ideas to streamline the flow. I was also responsible for building a system map and component library for both the dashboard and visualisation flows.
Voter.ie – This was the most independent project I worked on where I was tasked with redesigning some aspects of the voter.ie website. I was able to quickly and systematically work through an expansive exploration phase to arrive at a solution which both considered visual aesthetics and practical implementation.
While these were the main projects I worked on, there were others I worked on that allowed me to expand my skill set such as building Information Architecture diagrams, co-leading a discovery workshop with 25 participants, and more technical skills like Figma auto layouts and After Effects.
Shift Manager, Pizza Express, April 2022 – February 2023
In this role, I was responsible for running shifts successfully, cash-up and key holder duties, and creating rotas. This role helped to improve my interpersonal skills in stressful environments. During my shifts, I was able to keep a calm and orderly atmosphere among staff, which reflected in a comfortable and relaxed feel among guests. I believe this is a highly adaptive skill which allows me to work hard without getting overwhelmed, both on my own and with others.
Bar Staff, Cyprus Avenue Restaurant, April 2021 – March 2022
During my time at Cyprus Avenue Restaurant, I quickly rose from Bar Back to Bar Tender in a little over a month, with no prior experience. I learned that I thrive in new environments where I am able to discover new abilities and that I enjoy working with others and the public, as I am a person who enjoys helping others.

Once I had a 100% score on CV360, I got to show my CV to someone from the careers department on uni. They gave a lot of great feedback that CV360 didn’t. The main one was to stop using “I” throughout my CV. I had initially written my CV to personably, when in reality it should sound more like a factual document. After my feedback, I set out to make the changes that were recommended to me.
