I sketched in a similar way to the way I sketched the prototype, in a storyboard-esque way focusing on layout and positioning rather than exact shapes and images. This was an interesting process as I already had the prototype version in my head, so being able to think without what I had done before was a challenge.
One of the big additions in these sketches is the in-between spreads of illustrations to break up the sections. They’d help to transition between spreads like in the prototype version and would allow me to show some of the animated parts in frame-by-frame steps. I felt this would be a good addition to a book version as this sort of thing wouldn’t have fit into the prototype version.
The other big change was to the Influence and Timeline sections. These were separate screens outside of the main flow in the prototype so needed to have adequate space from the main sections to feel like they fit in. I felt big title pages would work well here and emphasise that they were a different experience.

With my sketches done, I could now move onto wire framing these out.
