To get me thinking about what I wanted my portfolio to look like, I had a look at some examples of other portfolios for inspiration.

Hyperflow

I really like the use of the line here as a central motif throughout the whole page. It helps to connect the sections and guide the users throughout the page and the use of the loops to mark when content is really effective.

The typography here is really nice. The tight serif typeface accompanied by fine margins and limited colours really brings a feel of class and professionalism, while still being stylish. I also really love the monotone colour palette.

Again, really nice typography here. I think it's the use of serifs that I really like between this and the previous example, so that will definitely be something I carry into my own work. Another thing I like between this and the previous is the way the nav feels part of the page, rather than a block floating on top, which is something I want to explore.

The way the first page is only one screen with no scrolling is really interesting as it feels like more of a starting point, which makes the whole portfolio feel like more of an experience. Could be something to explore.
