This, and all of the blogs, give an overview of the process and steps taken for each part. Iâve included images taken from the Figma File where the majority of the work lives to illustrate the process.
If you would still like to see further details on each part, please view the Figma File in full.
It can be found at the end of this page, or on this master page.

I wanted to take some time to think about how my app could integrate further with iOS or other phone operating systems. After doing some research, I found 2 primary ways to expand functionality.
The main functionality I wanted to add was âLive Activitiesâ. These are small parts of apps that can display on the lock screen of iPhones. This would be really useful for the navigation screens, as with long train journeys, it wouldnât be practical to keep your phone open. The navigation cards that already exist in my design system are already the right size and shape as live activity cards, so it was just a matter of resizing some parts.
I was really pleased with the finished results and felt it would be a really useful feature to have.

Naturally, I also wanted to use push notifications to increase functionality. The main challenge with these was just keeping the content short enough and of consistent length. I came up with a few example notifications that would speed up usersâ interactions with the app by pre-empting the actions they needed to do.

Overall this was a really useful exercise and helped me to consider how I could expand the functionality of my app with base OS functions.
