This, and all of the blogs, give an overview of the process and steps taken for each part. I’ve included images taken from the Figma File where the majority of the work lives to illustrate the process.
If you would still like to see further details on each part, please view the Figma File in full.
It can be found at the end of this page, or on this master page.

When creating illustrations for this project, I had a few different types.
The first type was conceptual illustrations. These were simple icon-like illustrations used on single screens to explain concepts, such as mobile ticketing. They drew on the core brand motifs of stations and lines as they were more part of the UI than standalone illustrations.

The informative illustrations helped inform users about complex concepts than were tied to networks, such as unique ticketing systems. These were created to illustrate points and concepts along side explanatory content.

The locational illustrations used similar styles from the previous two to represent a location. These would be seen when a user changed location, or viewed the locations networks. These utilised the single line to form rough shapes with additional fills to build them out.

The expressive illustrations were for brand and marketing purposes, and were unlikely to be seen in the UI. These were stylised versions of public transport methods than could be recoloured for different cities and advertising purposes.

Overall, I feel I have created a diverse illustration set than will allow for focussed uses throughout the UI and further brand.
