As designers, a normal Word document CV won’t suffice, the document itself needs to be well designed. To get myself thinking about this and to get some visual inspiration, I’ve found some examples of CV designs I like.

I find the alignment really interesting on this first CV. The way a central column aligns the type is great at drawing the eye and helps to give hierarchy to the two sections without having major visual differences.

I think the two-column layout here is really effective and is a nice ratio. I also think the colour works really well while not distracting from the content.

This is an interesting example of a really restrictive layout. The presentation of the person's name as a category is unique however I do feel it’s overall somewhat too quiet.

I thought the type pairing here was really effective along with the pops of colours. It looks really clean while still having a fair amount of personality.

I like the white on black here, and the logo in the top right. I could see myself doing a similar thing with my logo for my personal brand.

Really like the big name here and the space around it gives it a lot of emphasis. I do think that this sort of thing could still work with less round around it, as I think it might use up too much space in this instance.
This has been useful to get me thinking about what I want my CV to look like and has given me a lot of ideas.
